Polish studio CD Projekt RED has announced that all upcoming DLC for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be free.
“Let me announce that all our DLCs will be FREE. All of them,” the developer said in a Facebook Q&A “If anything will be for purchase, those will be expansion packs.”
The first portion of downloadable content, ‘Troll Trouble’, is available already in the US, and releases here in the UK on Friday. For free, of course.
The game itself was released in the UK today. The VideoGamer review is currently in the works and should hit the site by the end of the week.
Well that’s very generous indeed. Considering the extortionate prices other developers think they can charge for DLC, it’s nice to see CD Projekt offering some content for free. Anybody picking up the Witcher 2 now has several reasons to keep coming back to the game.
