Since asserting their belief that 2012 will be the year of EVE Online, CCP has released a new video designed to introduce the long-running MMO to new users.
The video offers an overview of the game’s avatar system, tutorial, military training, and exploration professions.
While EVE Online has a passionate community of veteran players, the game has so far been unable to reach the heights of last year’s subscription numbers after the controversy surrounding leaked internal documents exploring microtransactions. However the MMO did end the year ahead of last year in terms of subscribers, making it the 8th straight year of subscriber growth.
2012 might not necessarily be the year of EVE, but since making major changes to the game through patches over the last year it seems likely that the game will appeal to a new collection of users.
