CCP has announced a number of changes that will be featured in the upcoming patch for MMO EVE Online.

In a post on the official website, CCP Soundwave stated two of EVE Online’s dev teams – Team Best Friends Forever and Team Pink Zombie Kittens – are disbanding due to an overload of available developers.

To replace them three new teams have been formed: Team Super Friends, Team Game of Drones, and Team Five 0.

In celebration of the changes, Team Best Friends Forever and Pink Zombie Kittens have made a final push to deliver a number of new features for the January 24 patch.

Assault ships have now been rebalanced, while the watchlist now holds 14 people who can be dragged, dropped, and re-arranged. Additionally, alliances can now join faction warfare.

Full patch notes are available on the EVE Online dev blog.

Tickets are currently on sale for the EVE Online Fanfest 2012, which is scheduled to take place from March 22 to March 24.
