Catwoman is set to be a playable character in the upcoming Batman: Arkham City, Rocksteady Studios has announced.
A trailer featuring the classic character has been hosted on Gamespot which reveals a side-mission in which she attempts to steal goods that Gotham police have seized from the city’s various criminals.
Catwoman will control differently than Batman himself, thanks to the implementation of a whip that allows her to swing from roofs, as well as a new scoring system that awards her for navigating the city as gracefully as possible.
Additionally she will be able to use Thief Vision, goggles that highlight particularly pertinent items.
As estimated by the game’s developer Dax Ginn, her missions are said to take up 10 per cent of the full game. It will also be possible to switch from Batman to Catwoman in order to reach items beyond the Dark Knight’s reach.
Batman: Arkham City will be released on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on October 21.
It’s a shame that Rocksteady has already dismissed the rumours of a multiplayer element to the game as co-op featuring Batman and Catwoman sounds like it would work quite well.
