Not quite content cracking on with the Castlevania series on Netflix, Hollywood producer Adi Shankar has announced that his next project will be an Assassin’s Creed anime series.

Based on Ubisoft’s rather popular stealth-action franchise, the Assassin’s Creed anime series will tell an original story set within the Assassin’s Creed universe. There are no details regarding the show’s actual title, where we will be able to watch it, and who is in the cast, at this early stage.

Shankar is clearly excited about this opportunity. In his Facebook post, he mentions playing the original game when he first moved to LA, before adding ‘At that moment, I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day, Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin’s Creed and create an original anime story set in it as an anime series’, Ubisoft itself is yet to comment on this announcement, to clarify it’s level of involvement. But it is clear, from Shankar’s post that Ubisoft gave its blessing on the project.

He also shared his feelings on the project, ‘If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life, they are wrong’.

Castlevania the animated series will release July 7 on Netflix.
