The eagle eyed bods at io9 have noticed that Netflix snuck out news it’s doing a Castlevania show as part of a wider press release.

Netflix held an event announcing it’s upcoming programming, including the single line: Castlevania, Season 1, Part 1 Coming to Netflix in 2017.

Unfortunately that’s the all the solid information anyone has, although io9 notes that Adi Shankar, a producer who was behind the super dark Power Rangers short everyone went wild over a couple of years ago, has previously said he was working on a “super violent Castlevania mini-series” with Fred Seibert. Seibert founded Federator Networks, which is the animation studio behind stuff like Adventure Time and The Fairly OddParents.

Shankar went on to say of this supposed mini-series “It’s going to be dark, satirical, and after a decade of propaganda it will flip the vampire sub-genre on its head.”

So. We may not know much about this show. But it’s probably going to be weird.
