Konami’s legendary 2D side-scrolling action adventure game has been on its way to Xbox Live Arcade for quite some time, but finally the game will be available to purchase this week.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night sees gamers take on the role of the Alucard, the half-vampire son of Dracula, as he ventures into the Count’s castle. Alucard will have to collect items, weapons and armour if he is to defeat the powerful boss monsters that block access to key areas of the castle.

800 Microsoft Points will get you the game in its original form plus a jazzed up version complete with improved visuals and modernized audio and sound effects. You’ll also get the usual Xbox Live Arcade trimmings, including 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore points.

Those unsure on whether to make a purchase will also be able to try the customary demo that will accompany the game’s release.
