Konami has today announced Castlevania Judgement, a new fighting game featuring the many characters from the Castlevania franchise’s 22-year history.

The game is in development exclusively for Wii by legendary Castlevania series producer Koji “Iga” Igarashi. Players will choose sides in an epic battle of good vs evil using Castlevania characters designed by famed manga artist Takeshi Obata.

“We wanted to take this addition to the signature Konami franchise in a direction that really sets it apart from the previous Castlevania titles in the series,” said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “This combination is certain to thrill old and new fans of the franchise.”

Motion controls will see players slash, stab and whip their way across a variety of stages and environmental elements, and players will also be able to set traps and make use of monster on the field to achieve victory.

Additionally the game will support Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, enabling players to compete head-to-head. Gamers who also own Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia on DS will be able to sync the two games and unlock bonus content.

The game’s set for release in North America this autumn, but we’re still waiting for confirmation of a European release.
