Although not opting for the bundled Blu-ray film that North America PS3 owners were offered – a copy of Talladega Nights – Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will be offering early European PS3 owners a free copy of Casino Royale on Blu-ray.
The first 500,000 owners of a European PS3 who then register on the PlayStation Network will receive a Blu-ray disc movie of Casino Royale, staring Daniel Craig. The movie will be a showcase of what Blu-ray and the PS3 can offer, with a 50GB dual-layer Blu-ray disc containing a stunning 1080p presentation of the movie and high definition extra content.
“The PlayStation Network unlocks the broad range of interactive entertainment features of PlayStation 3. It’s easy to set up, offers free online gaming, has great tools for staying in touch with friends and family, and includes a wide variety of content for download through the PlayStation Store,” said Darren Carter, VP Brand and Consumer Marketing. “All this, and more, will enable users to experience a whole new world of interactive entertainment, and that is why we are offering the phenomenal incentive of Casino Royale, on Blu-ray disc, to PS3 owners who register on the PlayStation Network.“
The PlayStation 3 goes on sale across Europe on March 23.
