Capcom has announced the development of Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop, a new Wii game based on the acclaimed Dead Rising for Xbox 360.

Built using the Resident Evil 4 engine, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop will see players using the Wii Remote to shoot, slash and bludgeon their way through a zombie infested shopping mall in a fight for survival.

Players will take control of Frank West, a freelance journalist in pursuit of a juicy lead who finds himself in the small suburban town of Willamette – a place that has become overrun by zombies. Seeking safety Frank escapes to the local shopping mall, but he soon discovers the shoppers are only after one thing – his brain.

As in the Xbox 360 title, Frank will have full reign of a realistic shopping centre and will need to use the goods he finds to create makeshift weapons to fight off the flesh-hungry mob.

The game is split into a series of cases which Frank must complete to gain information that will allow him to discover the truth behind the zombie epidemic. In addition to these cases, Frank also faces the dilemma of deciding which residents to save first, knowing full well that those he leaves behind will join the undead.

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is scheduled for release this Winter.
