Capcom has released its financial results for the first half of 2018, and has revealed the growth of its net profits despite the closure of Capcom Vancouver and the game it was working on.

Capcom's Digital Contents division has seen a 70% increase in H1 revenue, and the company's overall net profit rose 97% – up to ¥6.8 billion – because of the success of several titles. This has raised expectations for its two upcoming releases, Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2.

Although Devil May Cry 5 releases in March, it still counts as part of this fiscal year, as is the case with Resident Evil 2, which is out on January 25.

Also in the report, Capcom confirmed that Monster Hunter: World, Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2, and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection all performed well.

Monster Hunter: World sold over 10 million copies since it launched on PC, and it remains Capcom's best-selling game ever. The company also pointed out that Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 both did well thanks to 'a dedicated fan base and strong brand capabilities.'

It makes sense that Capcom should have high expectations, given that Devil May Cry and Resident Evil are two of the company's biggest franchises.
