Capcom has finally announced Resident Evil Revelations for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U.

The game, which is a port of last year’s 3DS survival horror, will be available as a boxed product on each format, launching in North America on May 21 and throughout Europe on May 24.

Digital versions will also be available on PC and PlayStation 3 on the same day (priced at €39.99 and €49.99 respectively), with digital Xbox 360 and Wii U versions following at a later date.

Enhanced for high-definition consoles and PC, the game contains “high quality HD visuals, enhanced lighting effects and an immersive sound experience”, plus additional content, including a “terrifying new enemy”, an extra difficulty setting, and additional weapons and skillsets for use in Raid mode – Revelations’ co-op arcade mode.

Resident Evil Revelations is considered by some as one of the better Resident Evil games of 2012, fending off home console rivals Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

An HD port of Resident Evil Revelations has long been rumoured to be in development after the Korean Ratings Board listed the game for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in November last year.

Then, earlier this month, the Xbox 360 version’s achievements list leaked online. It is likely the “World Exclusive First Look” that Official Nintendo Magazine was referring to in its latest issue, too.

The first trailer for the game can be spotted below, with additional screens through the link.
