Saints Row: Undercover is a cancelled direct sequel to Saints Row 2 which was intended for release on PSP.

Now, thanks to Unseen64 and Josh Stinson (associate video editor at Volition who stumbled upon the game in an old PSP dev kit), the game is available for everyone to experience.

Originally in development under the name Saints Row: The Fall by Mass Media Games and then moved to Savage Entertainment, the idea was to simply port SR2 to PSP, but changed to a unique game set between the first and second games. However, the success of SR2 led Volition to set the title as a direct sequel to the second game.

Savage created a playable prototype, but even multiple reviews couldn’t save the title from being scrapped for being below Volition’s standards for the franchise. The game hid for years in the studio’s office space. Until now.

Volition has released the full prototype in ISO form over on Unseen64, which should work on PSP emulators such as PPSSPP. A host of images and design documents have also be released.
