Activision Blizzard has announced that Call of Duty Vanguard & Warzone‘s Season Three will arrive later this month.

The news was announced by way of the season’s next intro cinematic. While it doesn’t give too much away, we know it’ll be named ‘Classified Arms’ when it lands on April 27. Nebula bombs have been set off across the world, including on Warzone’s Caldera Island. Presumably then, this means players might have to watch out for chemical weapons in the shooter. We’ll know for sure in the coming days as the studios involved drip feed more information.

Interestingly enough, it seems that Call of Duty may also be welcoming more guest characters in the next season. As spotted by Video Games Chronicle, the official Call of Duty Twitter account notes a mysterious broadcast at the end of the trailer. Fans have, naturally, decoded this broadcast to find the message ‘Monsters are Real’.

While it’s yet to be confirmed, it’s believed this could be a reference to King Kong and Godzilla. Notorious industry insider Tom Henderson fills us in on the details. Over on XFire, he claimed last month he’s verified with his sources a set of concept images that showed King Kong and Godzilla mixing it up with Call of Duty. Both monsters are both under the umbrella of Warner Bros, and recently appeared together in 2021 movie Godzilla vs. Kong.

It certainly wouldn’t be the first movie crossover in the world of Call of Duty but it could be one of the most unusual. We’ll find out if we’ll be dropping into Caldera Island alongside the kaiju in the next couple of weeks. Call of Duty Vanguard & Warzone Season Three: Classified Arms arrives on April 27.
