Call of Duty: Ghosts’ minimum system requirements have been revealed – and they’re a lot higher than you may have been expecting.
Posted on Nvidia’s website, Ghosts requires a minimum 6GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ processor and a DirectX 11 graphics card, with Infinity Ward recommending an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780.
It’ll also require a whopping 50GB of HDD space and need a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or Windows 8.
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
RAM: 6 GB RAM
HDD: 50 GB HD space
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better
Sound:DirectX Compatible Sound Card
DirectX: 11
Internet: Broadband connection and service required for Multiplayer Connectivity. Internet connection required for activation.
RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780
In comparison, last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 only required 4GB RAM on a 64-bit OS, 16GB storage and at least a DirectX 9 Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB GPU.
The big requirements are likely due to Ghosts’ new “next-generation” engine and “amazing cinema-quality” visuals. Although considering it’s also going to be running at 60FPS on Xbox 360 and PS3, you’d expect the game to run on far lower specs than those required.
Ghosts’ requirements follow updated system specs for Watch Dogs, which requires a similar setup.
Call of Duty: Ghosts releases on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC on November 5.
