Infinity Ward appears to have lifted Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s ending almost wholesale for an early sequence in Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Spotted by YouTube user satantribal, the video above shows the similarities between the two sequences, with identical animations appearing to have been reused throughout the 18 second clip.

The sequence is featured in the opening level of Ghosts after orbital super-weapon ODIN is turned on the US.

Call of Duty: Ghosts launched yesterday on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC and Wii U, and launches on Xbox One next Friday, November 15.

Asset sharing is to be expected, of course, but re-skinning such a significant sequence for the opening of this year’s blockbuster seems an embarrassingly lazy move on Infinity Ward’s part.
