The first details on Call of Duty: Ghosts’ multiplayer will be revealed next month, the game’s executive producer Mark Rubin has announced, hinting at a possible Gamescom reveal for this year’s COD MP.

“We are in our death march push to finish [Call of Duty: Ghosts],” said Rubin on Twitter. “Lots left to do. Looking forward to MP in August.”

Asked when in August fans should expect more info, Rubin replied: “Middle”.

The tease suggests Infinity Ward could be preparing to reveal Ghosts’ multiplayer at this year’s Gamescom, which takes place between August 21-25.

Activision typically doesn’t reveal Call of Duty’s multiplayer until September. But with Battlefield 4’s multiplayer playable during last month’s E3, the publisher may have been forced to accelerate its plans.

Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on November 5, with Xbox One and PS4 versions also expected to be available at each console’s launch.

An exclusive multiplayer map – Freefall – is available to those who pre-order the title from GAME.
