“Butch and Sundance” is the just announced Prime Video original series set in an alternative history version of the American West (think Prime Video’s acclaimed adaptation of “The Man in the High Castle“) that is set to star rising Hollywood leading men, Regé-Jean Page and Glen Powell, as Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid respectively.
The series hails from Executive Producers, Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Infinity War, The Gray Man), and is written by Kaz and Ryan Firpo (Marvel Studio’s “Eternals”).

Per The Hollywood Reporter’s exclusive article breaking the news. The idea for the series came from The Russo’s and production company, AGBO, before they brought it to their “The Gray Man” star, Page. Then, after Page had joined the project, AGBO brought on Powell as they were fans of his work. After this, Page and Powell became executive producers on the project as well as its leading men, and they, along with The Russo’s and AGBO, brought on the Firpo’s to write the series.
Beyond this, as the project is still in the development phase of its lifespan, nothing more has been revealed yet, such as a director or directors, other cast members, shooting locations, etc. However, keep a eye on this page for all the latest breaking news on the project as it moves forward.
