EA has informed MTV Multiplayer that the upcoming DLC for its open-city racer, Burnout Paradise, will be a mix of free and premium content. Furthermore, all players of the online game will be able to “see” the new content even if it hasn’t been paid for.
“As mentioned, we don’t want to split the online community between those that have content and those that don’t. Our intention is to offer both free and paid for DLC in a way that enables everyone to ‘see’ the content, even if they have not paid for it,” said an EA rep.
EA wasn’t able to explain how the mix of free and premium content won’t split the online community. We hope it’s well implemented though, given that this is the reason for non-hard drive Xbox 360 users are unable to play Burnout Paradise online.
