There's a lot riding on Destiny 2: Forsaken, with the expansion kicking off Year 2 of the shared-world shooter and bringing with it a bunch of new content to (hopefully) reinvigorate the troubled sequel.

One of the things coming back into the mix will be Daily Heroic Story missions, which were previously a thing in the original Destiny. These offer the chance to complete missions from the campaign at a higher difficulty, which coughs up precious loot as a reward.

Bungie's also feeling pretty chuffed with itself in regards to the four new Strikes that Forsaken will offer, one of which is exclusive to PlayStation 4 users.

'You can do the Heroic Story missions, other daily challenges, some that are less frequent than daily but more frequently than every week, that kind of stuff. But Strikes are there. Our goal is to get you to play Strikes better than we actually have over the last year,' said Bungie's Steve Cotton, during a chinwag with GamesRadar.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is due out on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on September 4. It looks and sounds smashing…only, Bungie's decided to kill off its best character, Cayde-6, right at the beginning of the game. Seriously?

I feel like making the pilgrimage to Los Angeles and laying down a packet of ramen at the Hunter Vanguard's shrine.
