Bungie CEO Pete Parsons has agreed with comments made by a community manager, saying that Sony won’t “muzzle” Bungie.

The issue stems from Jim Ryan’s internal e-mail, last week, asking staff to “respect differences of opinion” on abortion rights. Bloomberg leaked excerpts of that e-mail, in which Ryan went on to discuss his cats.

Since then, Insomniac Games has donated money to an abortion fund, and Sony has matched the donated amount. Insomniac CEO Ted Price said, “For the most part our ability to tweet has been unfettered. However there are rare times when we’re in opposition (like this week) and SIE will have the final say.”

Now, a senior community manager at Bungie said (via VGC), “there will never be a ‘muzzle’ big enough to stop us from standing up for what’s right.” In response to this tweet, Parsons replied, “Yes.”

The studio has previously been vocal on the abortion issue. In a blog post entitled, “Bungie Supports Essential Healthcare Rights,” the company said, “Standing up for reproductive choice and liberty is not a difficult decision to make, and Bungie remains dedicated to upholding these values.”

Sony acquired the studio, back in January, for $3.6 billion. Jim Ryan said that PlayStation will benefit from the studio’s “world class expertise in multiplatform development and live game services.”
