If you’ve ever thought you could run a space station business then soon you’ll have the opportunity to prove it. Namco Bandai has announced the summer release of Space Station Tycoon for the Wii.

The game follows the adventures of Shawn and his monkey sidekick Tam through pirate infested space, meteor fields and supernovas as they seek fame and fortune.

Players will have to expand their empire with an increasing number of space stations and customise each one to attract new business. You’ll have to ensure you keep the customers happy – do that and their money will soon be yours. Throughout the game players will encounter more than 30 characters and must be on the watch for unruly space pirates, starfish ninjas and mysterious voodoo-practicing chickens.

Players will get stuck in with the day to day running of each station and will have to use the Wii Remote to interact with objects in the environment: catch asteroids to keep them from smashing your space station, bounce rowdy ships, retrieve tips from visitors and even lob cannonballs at those troublesome pirates that keep attacking.

The game will also include a multi-player party mode and co-op, enabling you to team up with other players.

Space Station Tycoon is scheduled for release this summer for Wii.
