Buffy the Vampire scribe Marti Noxon has been brought in to pen the script for MGM’s Tomb Raider reboot, which could be a big step in finally getting the project off the ground, reports Variety.

The story is still in the development stages, but is expected to follow Lara on her international archaeological adventures. The video game franchise has itself been rebooted this year, but it’s not known if a movie would mimic the origins story of the video game.

Besides her work on Buffy, Noxon’s film credits include Fright Night, I am Number Four, and The Glass Castle.

Despite a successful debut for the Tomb Radier movie franchise, the sequel failed to repeat this performance and any plans for a third film starring Angelina Jolie were scrapped.

If the movie does go into full production, who would you like to see take the role of Lara Croft?
