Double Fine Productions founder Tim Schafer has confirmed that his studio’s upcoming Jack Black action title, Brutal Legend, will not be making an appearance at E3 next week.

“We’re not going to be showing at E3, but soon after that we hope,” Schafer told MTV Multiplayer. “As soon as the dust settles from this whole [Activision Blizzard] merger thing we should be able to talk about the game a lot more.”

Brutal Legend stars Heavy Metal roadie Eddie Riggs (Jack Black) who is transported into a Heavy Metal and Nordic fantasy-inspired alternate world where demons have enslaved humanity.

The game’s currently in development for Xbox 360 and PS3 and last we heard was pencilled in for a 2008 release.
