An enhanced version of Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse is coming to PS4 and Xbox One this summer, Revolution Software has announced.

The console release will include improved animation and sound over the existing PC version, and will be available to purchase both digitally and physically. As well as the game disc, the retail version will also include a graphic novel featuring the game’s introduction.

“We are delighted to bring Broken Sword 5 to PS4 and Xbox One – with enhancements over the other versions including additional animation and audio, a character gallery section and many console-specific enhancements,” said Revolution founder Charles Cecil.

“The Broken Sword games have a proud history on previous PlayStation and Xbox consoles. There is such a loyal following for the Broken Sword games, as demonstrated by the 15,000 fans who backed the original Kickstarter campaign – it’s fantastic to now be able to bring the game to all those console owners who have requested that we write the game for their favourite platform.”

Broken Sword 5 first launched on PC and PS Vita in 2013 before being ported to mobile the following year.

The game sees the return of journalist Nico Collard and lawyer George Stobbart on a point-and-click episodic adventure to unravel the conspiracy behind a stolen painting and save mankind.

A price and exact release date has yet to be announced.
