Boulder Dash has been taxing the brains of gamers since the early 80s, and the diamond hunting puzzler is now on its way to handheld platforms.

10tacle Studios has announced that its mobile studio will be bringing an all-new version of Boulder Dash to the DS and PSP in the second half of 2007.

With “Boulder Dash” we are proud to be able to continue one of the oldest and most famous brands in computer games, said 10tacle Studios Mobile Managing Director Alexandra Gerb. “The tried and true concept has already delighted generations of computer, video game and coin-operated arcade gamers, and now we want to give the brand our own accent by adding a number of innovations designed to take advantage of the capabilities these new platforms have to offer.

Boulder Dash branded games have recently been released for mobile phones, PDAs and online platforms, and the new DS and PSP versions will be available in the second half of 2007.
