Good news, folks! Borderlands 3 'won't have microtransactions,' Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford confirmed during a gameplay reveal event yesterday evening.

Well, to be specific, Borderlands 3 will flog you items, but they won't be anything that affects gameplay. They're only cosmetic items, which is something a lot of games are doing nowadays, thankfully.

'We’ve made a commitment to the story, style, and design that our fans have told us loud and clear that they cherish and want us to preserve,' said Pitchford.

'We're selling cosmetic items, but we're not going to nickel and dime players,' commented Gearbox's Paul Sage, during an interview with Game Informer. 'DLC will come down the line, but the game won't have anything excessive.'

Borderlands 3 is due out on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on September 13.
