Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi has come out in support of former Nirvana band members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, who have urged Activision to remove the late Kurt Cobain from its Guitar Hero 5 video game.

Bon Jovi frontman told the BBC: “I don’t know that I would have wanted it either. To hear someone else’s voice coming out of a cartoon version of me? I don’t know. It sounds a little forced.”

He also revealed that Activision did approach him for inclusion in Guitar Hero 5, but turned down the offer.

“I had the paperwork, they wanted me to be on that game and I just passed,” he explained. “But no-one even broached the subject with me that I would be singing other people’s stuff. I don’t know how I would have reacted to that. I don’t know that I would have wanted it either.”

Guitar Hero 5 is out now for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2.
