It's not been a great week for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and technical issues, as after a nasty progression-ruining bug last week, now the game's official Twitter account has confirmed it is switching focus to patch up the game's Nintendo Switch port after many users complained of performance issues running the game.

In the statement posted to Twitter last night, the official account said it had been 'listening to the feedback regarding Switch performance.' It said that their aim was 'for everyone, regardless of platform, to be able to enjoy the game and have it run smoothly. We want to live up to your, and our, expectations.'

They did confirm that an update, patch 1.01 was published to the Switch version before the game's Switch release yesterday to fix some issues that were already known about, but it seems that this hasn't been enough, and now they are 'immediately shifting resources to improve performance and stablity' for the Switch version of the game. A number of smaller updates will be deployed rather than forcing players to wait for one big update.

It's a bit of a shame, as the spirtual Castlevania sequel is a pretty decent game all in all, you can read our Josh's thoughts on it so far here. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available on Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
