Blizzard may be unveiling information at this year’s Blizzcon about the MMO they’ve been keeping under covers, Titan.
This rumour comes from M2 Research senior analyst Billy Pidgeon in an interview with VentureBeat, stating: “If they are holding any juicy details, it’s going to be announced at Blizzcon.
“The big news is probably going to be a Diablo 3 date and a possible new announcement about one or more new properties.”
Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences board member Zack Karlsson disagreed, believing it’s unlikely we will see Titan this October. However he went on to say Blizzard may choose to be more aggressive now that Star Wars: The Old Republic is to launch.
“If I’m them, I park it right on top of some big (Star Wars: The Old Republic) announcement,” Karlsson said.
“I’d want (Star Wars: The Old Republic) to spend something big, drop some cash, and then run right over them and trump marketing dollars with PR.”
World of Warcraft’s subscription numbers have continued to dwindle in the past year, and this is likely to increase after the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic in late December.
