Blizzard Entertainment has no 'frontline release' in the pipeline for this year, which is fancy PR talk for saying Diablo 4 won't be out anytime soon.

Speaking during Activision Blizzard's latest earnings call overnight, studio overlord Coddy Johnson said (via Polygon), 'We expect materially lower financial performance this year. 2018 benefited from the release of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, whereas we are not planning a major frontline release for 2019.'

It's a bit of a gloomy outlook for Blizzard, then, and comes following news that Activision is slashing nearly 800 jobs across the company, which will largely target non-game development sectors.

There is one Diablo project on the horizon, namely the mobile title Diablo Immortal that was met with a poor reception during its unveiling at BlizzCon 2018.
