2D fighting game series BlazBlue has sold 1.7 million copies worldwide, Aksys Games has announced.

Of this figure, 800,000 copies have been shifted in the US.

The franchise made its debut in 2009 with BlazBlue Calamity Trigger.

The latest instalment, Chrono Phantasma will be released in Japanese arcades this winter. The game promises three new characters and is expected to appear on Xbox 360 and PS3 at a later date.
