Leaked Black Myth: Wukong DLC plans could double the game’s content  

Chinese Acton game Black Myth: Wukong has launched to critical and commercial success. As the game continues to sell out PS5s in China, Black Myth: Wukong DLC is reportedly in the works.

Video game leaker Lunatic Ignus took to Twitter to discuss plans for Black Myth: Wukong DLC. According to the video game leaker, Game Science is planning two major DLCs for the new action title. 

According to the insider, Game Science’s DLCs will more than double the number of chapters in the game. At the moment, there are only six chapters in the game, but with DLC this number could increase to thirteen. 

“The game was meant to have 13 chapters, but they released only 6 longer chapters because of the budget,” the leaker claimed. 

Based on Journey to the West, Wukong’s DLC could bring even more characters from the Chinese epic into the fray. While a pretty full take on the literary great, there are a lot of missing elements that could be introduced. 

The leaker has not revealed when the DLC expansions will be coming to Wukong, or if they will arrive before the game’s Xbox version. However, if these expansions are coming, players should be very excited. 

A big future for Wukong 

With the success of Wukong resulting in increased AAA game production in China, Game Science is also reportedly working on another single-player adventure for a global release. 

Alongside the two Black Myth: Wukong DLC chapters, the developer is reportedly working on another entry in the series. Not based on Journey to the West, the upcoming game is said to be based around ancient Chinese general Jiang Ziya. 

With the entirety of Chinese culture largely untouched in the AAA gaming space, there’s a lot of room to play around. After decades of American and Japanese gaming prominence, the introduction of an entirely new culture is incredibly exciting.
