NovaLogic has today announced that its forthcoming Xbox shooter, Delta Force – Black Hawk Down, will feature huge battles over Xbox Live, supporting up to 50 players over Microsoft’s service.

This is a first for Xbox Live, with no game before it offering this number of players in an online arena. At the moment the standard for Xbox games is sixteen players, with many games struggling to play smoothly and lag free with this number of people playing in the same game. It will be very interesting to see how Black Hawk Down manages to deal with 50.

The game will include all the standard Xbox Live features, four-player split screen and a single player campaign. Lee Milligan, President of NovaLogic Inc commented on the game’s online features. He said: “We are ecstatic that we have been able to deliver next-generation multiplayer gaming to existing Xbox Live gamers before the next-gen consoles arrive.”

We hope to bring you more on Delta Force – Black Hawk Down in the months leading up to its release.
