BioWare’s long in development RPG, Dragon Age, is set for release during EA’s upcoming fiscal 2009 year, putting the game’s debut in the 12 month period beginning April 1, 2008.

EA didn’t offer any new info on the title, but from previous previews we know the game will be darker than the normal BioWare stuff and has been heavily influenced by modern fantasy such as George R. R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones.

The much applauded Mass Effect conversation system is also said to feature, although in a modified form.

Previous information only points to a PC release, although the lucrative console market and BioWare’s recent acquisition by EA could result in the game heading to other platforms.

Expect lots more information on Dragon Age over the coming year.
