BioWare's Casey Hudson has revealed that the studio is looking to make an announcement soon regarding its plans for the Dragon Age series.

Writing on the BioWare Blog, Hudson, who lead development of the Mass Effect franchise, reaffirmed how important the Dragon Age series is to the studio, and made it clear it'll be talking about its future plans very soon. In the next month, in fact.

'If you've been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we're also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff,' said Hudson. 'Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we're excited to continue its legacy. Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won't tell you where to look…)'

December is obviously host to The Game Awards 2018, so there's a chance we might hear something then. Either way, we won't be waiting long.

A new Dragon Age has been teased numerous times by BioWare this year. Mark Darrah was confirmed as executive producer on the new game, although in the summer BioWare said it was still 'figuring out' what shape the next title would take.

It was then reported that Anthem would somehow influence the new Dragon Age, although BioWare later said this wasn't actually the case.

The most recent entry in the series was 2014's Dragon Age: Inquisition, which wasn't bad at all.
