Update: The “special PS Move peripheral” being made for BioShock Infinite does not exist, Take-Two has told VideoGamer.com.

Original story: A special PlayStation Move peripheral to be used with BioShock Infinite has been confirmed by Sony. The news was tucked away inside a new PlayStation Move article found on PlayStation.com.

“A special PS Move peripheral is being produced that will draw you even deeper into this stunning vision of a parallel future,” states the article.

Very little has been revealed about the PS Move support for BioShock Infinite. Back in June BioShock creator Ken Levine made it very clear that such motion control support would not interfere with the game if you don’t want it to.

“Any experience that sits in the realm of motion play needs to be kept separate from the main experience,” he said.

“It needs to be firewalled off so that if this experiment isn’t for you, or doesn’t turn out to be all that great, you just ignore it.”

BioShock Infinite is scheduled for release in 2012.
