THQ Nordic has announced a delay for the Excellent 101-developed Biomutant, with the game now hitting PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in summer 2019.

Biomutant has been keeping a low profile up until Gamescom this week, and was originally set to hit stores at some point later this year. Sadly, that's no longer happening, although no reason for the delay was given.

In case you haven't been keeping up with Experiment 101's anthropomorphic-starring action-RPG, the game features a post-apocalyptic setting where your character, a raccoon-type thing, is fully customisable and freely roams the landscape scrapping with mutant animals. Typical of RPGs, you'll also spend a lot of time levelling up, acquiring new gear, and hoovering up missions.

The world itself has been struck by a natural disaster resulting in poisonous oil surfacing and polluting the Tree of Life. As such, it's down to you to set things right, and a branching story means you can determine how the narrative unfolds.
