Upcoming PS3 supernatural thriller Beyond: Two Souls may appear on other platforms, Quantic Dream COO Guillaume de Fondaumière has suggested to Eurogamer.

Asked if the game will be cross-platform, Fondaumière said: “It’s for PlayStation 3.” Further pushed on if the game is only for PS3, he added, “so far, yes”.

Whilst it’s unclear if Beyond will move across platforms, Fondaumière did confirm the studio is working on a title for PlayStation 4.

“For us, a new console is another reason to try and innovate. What is certain is that whatever we’re working on on PS4 is not going to resemble what we’re doing on PS3… We’re going to try and reinvent ourselves.”

Commenting on the development process on PS4 compared to PS3, Fondaumière said it was “Incomparable. Very easy.”

He added “We’ll be able to express ourselves in a more straightforward way. So it’s perfect, it’s excellent.”

Beyond: Two Souls will be released in October, at what is expected to be a similar time the PlayStation 4 hits stores.

While Fondaumière seems quite sure the studio’s PS4 work will be quite different to what it’s produced for PS3 (suggesting Beyond isn’t likely on PS4), he didn’t rule out the game arriving on other systems. Could we see a port to Vita?
