Bethesda continues to pepper some of its most recent games with several much-needed updates, and Starfield is set to receive one that introduces a few oft-requested features. For anyone frustrated by Starfield’s frustrating lack of planetary traversal options, you’re in for a treat. According to the game’s development team, they’ll add a speedy land vehicle that should make it infinitely easier for players to explore each area since you won’t need to walk (or space hop) everywhere.

Plus, official mod support is coming soon, too, which hardcore players have been waiting for since Bethesda first teased it late last year. Based on its latest major update blog post, the Fallout creators revealed they plan to add these new goodies in an upcoming Starfield patch, though it’s unclear when they’ll be releasing said features. Of course, the team did state in the previously linked piece that they’ll provide updates “roughly every six weeks,” so it’ll likely arrive within the same timeline.

As for the latest Starfield major update, player reaction has largely been positive with most praising the new ship interior decoration system. Like the myriad of best Starfield ship builds that littered the subreddit at launch, fancily decorated vessel interiors have begun popping up as well. The new feature has even spawned r/StarfieldShipDecor, which is already filling up with players sharing snapshots of their interplanetary homes away from home.

Finally, Bethesda has also teased the arrival of the Starfield Shattered Space release date, which players have long been expecting since the middle of 2023. Though it has yet to provide a specific launch window, it’s safe to assume that it will be launching in mid-2024, barring any unforeseen setbacks. Like any other DLC, however, you will need to purchase it separately if you didn’t get the game’s Premium or Constellation Editions before launch.
