UPDATE: Bethesda marketing exec Pete Hines has responded to PS4 & Xbox One versions of Skyrim being listed on the publisher’s website, claiming that their appearance was “a bug”.
“We have been working on the CMS that runs our sites,” he said. “A bug caused platforms that don’t exist to show up for some games. Sorry for confusion.”
Hines’ comment doesn’t necessarily mean that Skyrim isn’t in development for PS4 and Xbox One, however.

ORIGINAL REPORT: Bethesda may have accidentally spilled the beans on a next-gen release of 2011 RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, listing the game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the game’s official website.
The publisher has yet to make any official announcement about the game’s release on next-gen consoles but a rumour on Reddit suggests it could be gearing up to make an announcement this Sunday, January 12.
Skyrim first launched on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2011 and has been a consistent performer, selling well over 20 million copies.
VideoGamer.com has contacted a Bethesda rep for comment.
A surprise next-gen launch for Skyrim that includes beta access to The Elder Scrolls Online would make sense, wouldn’t it?
