MVC reports that Swordfish Studios’ 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, the Xbox 360 and PS3 action title, has been picked up for a UK release by THQ.

The confirmation of the publishing deal does not come by THQ itself, but through the game’s classification by the BBFC – the game’s been awarded an 18 rating. Rumours that the game had been snapped up by THQ began earlier this week when THQ was listed alongside the game in a classification on the Australian government’s entertainment Classification Database.

50 Cent: Blood on the sand was one of the more high profile casualties of the Activision Vivendi merger, which also saw Ghostbusters discarded from the newly formed Activision Blizzard publisher.

THQ has thus far been unable to confirm it is publishing the game.
