Battlefield V's Tides of War is expanding soon with the launch of Chapter 2: Lightning Strikes, and DICE has provided a slew of new details today on what to expect from the latest content drop.

For starters, Lightning Strikes will cough up four new weapons, three of which were confirmed as the Medic-based Zk-383 SMG, the Assault-based Modele 1944 semi-automatic, and the M1922 MMG for the Support class.

Squad Conquest will also be part of the package as previously confirmed, which offers an 'intense version' of Conquest with two teams of 16 players across the maps Arras, Rotterdam, and Hamada.

'These maps all feature 16 players on two teams, three flags, spawning restricted to HQs, and limited access to vehicles. A core belief behind Squad Conquest is a restricted number of variables to allow strategy to be able to exist – you have to be able to predict player behavior and patterns, which is reflected in all three map layouts,' wrote DICE.

Squad Conquest is available to take part in from January 17 – 30, while an accompanying title update will implement a wealth of fixes spanning multiple areas.

These include a bunch of UI fixes for Time to Death and Death Experience, such as tweaking the damage directional indicator. Ragdoll physics have been buffed, the Stuka siren is now louder, while multiple weapons have had their damage, handling, and other attributes tinkered with.

Have a gander at the full patch notes here. Lightning Strikes arrives on January 17, although the game's battle royale offering, Firestorm, won't be here until March.
