Battlefield 4 will not have a co-op mode, a report by IGN Benelux claims.
According to the site (translated by Google), DICE GM Karl Magnus Troedsson said that the decision not to include co-op in Battlefield 4 was made to “focus on the development of new single player and multiplayer modes”.
Battlefield 3’s co-op mode was poorly received by fans and critics on its arrival in October 2011, with our reviewer criticising the “woeful” mode for being “functional but never fun”.
Battlefield 4 was revealed earlier this week. The game is due for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC this autumn, with next-gen console versions also expected to be available.
