Battlefield 4’s open beta will launch on October 1 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, EA has confirmed.
The open beta offers players the chance to try out Conquest mode on Siege of Shanghai one month in advance of the game’s release on November 1. And it’ll likely face strong competition for your playtime, of course – it’s due to launch the same day as GTA Online.
However, it isn’t yet clear when the ‘Exclusive Battlefield 4 Beta’ will launch, which grants early access to those who have pre-ordered the Origin Digital Deluxe Edition of Battlefield 4, purchased Medal of Honor: Warfighter’s Limited Edition or own a Battlefield 3 Premium membership.
EA offered 48 hour early access to the Battlefield 3 beta to those who qualified back in 2011. If history were to repeat itself, expect to gain access to the exclusive beta on September 29.
Battlefield 4 goes on sale on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on November 1, with PS4 and Xbox One versions to follow at each console’s launch.
