If you’re planning on playing Battlefield 4 on PC this year you’ll want to take a look at the official minimum and recommended system requirements, as published by DICE.
Given the game’s transition to the next-generation Frostbite 3 engine the minimum specs aren’t as high as we’d expected. You should be able to get by with a modest dual core CPU, 4GB of memory and a very affordable graphics card. Exactly what performance you’ll get from this, however, isn’t clear.
Minimum Requirements
OS: Windows Vista SP2 32-bit (with KB971512 platform update)
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHZ, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHZ
Memory: 4GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 3870, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT
Graphics Memory: 512 MB
Hard Drive: 30 GB
The recommended specs are a little more taxing, asking for a six or quad core CPU, 8GB of memory and a much more modern 3GB graphics card.
Recommended Requirements
OS: Windows 8 64-bit
Processor: AMD Six-Core CPU, Intel Quad-Core CPU
Memory: 8 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7870, Nvidia GeForce GTX 660
Graphics Memory: 3 GB
Hard Drive: 30 GB
Battlefield 4 launches for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 1, followed on November 22 for Xbox One and on November 29 for PS4.
