Battlefield 3 and Battlelog outages are a result of a denial of service attack designed to overwhelm the game servers, EA has revealed.

“The current BF3 and Battelog outages are a result of activity that appears to be aimed at overwhelming our game servers,” confirmed a Tweet from the Battlefield account.

“Thank you for being understanding. We are going to try our best to get everyone back onto the battlefield as soon as possible.”

Updates on the situation will be made on official channels, including the Battlefield Twitter account.

“Thanks for your patience!” EA concluded.
