EA has announced that the Open Beta for upcoming shooter Battlefield 2042 will take place between October 6 and October 9.

The beta will feature one mode and one map, allowing players to try the traditional Conquest mode on Orbital. That’s the map set around an imminent rocket launch, and expect the map to change dramatically thanks to an incoming storm. You’ll have four of the game’s Specialists to pick from too.

These include Webster McKay, who has the Nimble skill and a Grappling Hook. Then there’s Maria Falck who’ll act as your combat medic, complete with syringe pistol. Next up is Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsky who gets to wield a Sentry Gun that automatically locks onto targets. Finally, sniper Wikus “Casper” Van Daele has use of a Recon Drone that can disorient enemies via an EMP blast.

The open beta will first welcome pre-orders or EA Play members from October 6 to October 7. Everyone else will then get to join in between October 8 and October 9. A couple of days before all of that, preloading will go live on October 5.
