DICE has announced that Battlefield 1's Rupture map has now been made available as a free download for all players.

This basically means you won't need to fork out for any of the game's downloadable content to play it, specifically They Shall Not Pass, which has been knocking about for over a year now. Rutpure takes place during the Second Battle of the Marne near Paris, France, a map that is perhaps best remembered for its lush poppyfields bisected by a river.

In addition, DICE also revealed that Shock Operations will arrive in June, and takes the form of a 40-player battle that emphasies both attacking and defending on a single map. We're also promised more updates will be rolled out for the shooter up until the summer.

'We’re continuing monthly updates for Battlefield 1 until June 2018, in which you can expect fresh content together with various tweaks and fixes for the player experience,' publisher Electronic Arts. 'As you may have seen on the Updates Page, these updates can cover anything: matchmaking, weapon balancing, even Dreadnought horns that sometimes won’t stop blaring.'

Battlefield 1 was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in October 2016. The next chapter in the series is coming later this year, and is rumoured to be set in the Second World War and feature a dedicated co-op mode.
