The developers of surprise PC shooter hit BattleBit Remastered have been speaking on a potential console version, but it could be a while before we see the game appear on Xbox or PlayStation.

One of the three developers who goes by the name of TheLiquidHorse took part in an official Reddit AMA over the weekend, where fans were of course curious if the multiplayer shooter would ever find its way onto consoles. The answer may not have been an emphatic yes, but it did leave the option open. “Possibly, but that will take a while still.” The main thing holding them back, it seems, is making sure that any console version is done right.

A user by the name of Ripperjoejoe followed up with: “I have a friend who only uses consoles who I’d love to play with. Do you have any plans to eventually port this to consoles?” To which the dev responded “Right now, not really, for us the experience matters. Currently, we wouldn’t be able to deliver the same experience on console, until we are at this point – we won’t see a console release.” So for those wondering is BattleBit Remastered on Xbox could be waiting a little while longer.

One thing the devs have ruled out entirely though is a VR version. “We don’t plan to bring the game to VR, this would just be something for the sake of making money,” TheLiquidHorse responded to another VR dev’s question. “There would be no enjoyment in playing VR. It’s just too much chaos.” So alas, if you’re hoping to experience the game on the PS VR2 you may want to look elsewhere.

Elsewhere in the AMA, TheLiquidHorse confirmed that the team are planning to give interiors a bit of a touch up in the near future, and they want to introduce more gamemodes for players to get stuck into too. However, they don’t plan to add a minimap, and fans of shotguns will have to go elsewhere as it seems the devs have no intention to add those either.
